Wendy Crowley's friend, Chandra King, joined Bette Cooper, Wendy Crowley, Hilary Clark, Polly Wheaton, and Andrea Nagata (not in photo) at Vina Vieja on Wednesday, April 18, which is the area between the play structure and the dog park. Many stubborn weeds were done away with and the area did look better. A good time was had by all. We leave the hour of beautification feeling good about the time well spent.
Polly Wheaton, Wendy Crowley, Laurie Jutzi and Bette Cooper had a good time weeding at the Glen and Washington triangle. This was a Pasadena Beautiful Day project several years ago, and we can be proud of our endeavors. The plants have filled in, adding welcome color, the trees have matured, which gives much needed shade canopy, and it is a huge improvement over what was there before. A lot of weeds were removed and it was left looking better than when we arrived.
As can be seen in the background, there wasn't a weed left on the bank that the able Pasadena Beautiful Wednesday Work Day group didn't dig out. On a gorgeous day, Wendy Crowley, Suzi Miller, Dan Smith, Bette Cooper, Angie O'Brien, Polly Wheaton, Betsey Tyler, Laurie Jutzi and Nadeen Danz left the San Rafael Park bank much improved. Good time was had by all!
On Wednesday, March 14th, John Poer, Wendy Crowley, William Koelsch, Andrea Nagata and Bette Cooper spent the Wednesday Work Day at the Singer Park rose garden putting some finishing touches on the splendid achievements of Pasadena Beautiful Day, when 60 rose bushes were planted. We made sure that all the bushes had wells around the bases, which helps the rose bushes thrive. It looks great! Please stop by and enjoy what promises to be a superb Spring showing of color in April or May.
Pasadena Beautiful Wednesday Work Day, Feb. 29th, took place at the Rose Garden at Singer Park with Bette Cooper, Wendy Crowley, Andrea Nagata and John Poer pictured here, as well as Polly Wheaton and Susi Miller, where we planted 10 more rose bushes, and spread food on the old bushes as well as the 60 planted on Pasadena Beautiful Day, February 25th. It will look gorgeous when all are in bloom.
On this February 15th Wednesday Work Day John Poer, Andrea Nagata, Bette Cooper and Wendy Crowley spent the hour at the Pasadena Senior Center garden, which was re-landscaped last Spring thanks to a grant from the Pasadena Community Foundation and the collaboration with Pasadena Beautiful and the City. The garden looks great and even greater after all the weeding that was accomplished..
February 8th Wednesday Work Day was held at the Jackie Robinson Center. Polly Wheaton, Betsey Tyler, John Poer, Andrea Nagata and Bette Cooper spent the hour weeding the front entrance gardens and made a noticeable difference.
Wednesday, February 1st, Wendy Crowley, Polly Wheaton, Suzi Miller, John Poer, Andrea Nagata and Bette Cooper (photographer) enjoyed their weeding hour at the Pasadena Public Library. Many hands made light work of a challenging job. Very stubborn weeds, indeed!
January 21 found John Poer, Wendy Crowley, Leelee Doughty, Andrea Nagata, Bette Cooper, Polly Wheaton and Suzi Miller at the rose garden in Singer Park giving the rose bushes their annual pruning.
On January 11th, the Wednesday Work Day took place at the Pasadena Public Library. Weeder Leader, Wendy Crowley(not pictured), Hilary Clark and Bette Cooper were able to clear one section of the front gardens of the pesky weeds. Satisfying project and left it looking much improved.
